Accommodation Review Committee
The Kanata Accommodation Review Committee aims to find long term solutions to overcrowding and low enrollment at elementary schools throughout Kanata. These solutions will be put in place for September of 2012.
Roch Carrier is one of three schools identified as facing pressures of overcrowding with interim solutions proposed for September of 2011. The OCDSB Planning Department will be making the decisions on the interim solutions.
Please review the Kanata Discussion Paper - Interim Solutions and submit your feedback by Friday, January, 28th to the OCDSB Planning Department at planning@ocdsb.ca.
The Kanata ARC is separated into North and South studies, with both groups gathering to address concerns for all of Kanata. The ARC representatives for Roch Carrier E.S. are Christina Huppe and Cynthia Menary. Please feel free to contact them with any questions or concerns regarding Roch Carrier and the ARC.
Working group meetings are held monthly (first Monday of the month at 5:30pm) rotating through the schools involved. The meeting dates, times and locations can be found at www.ocdsb.ca in the "Mark Your Calendar" section. All are welcome to observe the working group meetings. Questions or comments will be taken for the last 15 minutes - each question/comment can be no more than 2 minutes.
As the ARC is intended to be an open process, there will also be four public meetings where members of the community can address their concerns. Furthermore, there is a binder located in the school office for anyone to review and school council will continuously update this website to keep parents informed.
